What is the difference between the Basic, Preferred, and Premium plans? +
All three plans include unlimited consultations, 24/7 emergency access, your will, Power of Attorney, and MEMBERPerks discounts. Preferred adds coverage for children, annual will updates, Living Will, uncontested divorce, prenuptial agreements, mortgage and lease document review, IRS audit assistance, and more. Premium adds a Revocable Living Trust option, simplified probate, motor vehicle criminal defense, death-related traffic charge defense, IRS audit representation, and unlimited notarizations.
How quickly can I speak with an attorney? +
You can typically connect with a provider attorney the same or next business day. For covered emergencies, 24/7 access is available — any hour, any day of the year. You can also submit requests and upload documents directly through the LegalShield app.
How does the traffic ticket defense work? +
Your provider attorney will advise you on your options and represent you as needed. Basic members get 1 ticket per year (available after 90 days), Preferred members get 2 per year, and Premium members get 3 per year. Unused tickets on Preferred and Premium plans roll over. A $79 fee applies each time the Provider Law Firm is required to make a court appearance.
Are there waiting periods for any services? +
Most services are available immediately or within 10–90 days. Services like uncontested divorce, prenuptial agreements, and adoption assistance require 180 days of membership. Traffic ticket assistance is available after 10 days on Preferred and Premium (90 days on Basic). These waiting periods help keep membership costs fair for everyone.
