Michael Hopkins

Founder and CEO

Michael is the founder and CEO of Hopkins Financial. A native of Huntsville, Alabama, he moved to South Carolina after high school for a gap year program at The Academy of Arts Christian Conservatory. Intending to go into law enforcement, he took a security job, where he met an incredibly impactful friend and mentor. As a result of this mentor’s influence, Michael started Hopkins Financial in April of 2023 for the purpose of sharing Christ with others through helping them navigate the minutiae and complexities of the insurance world. The “work” of serving those God has placed in his life is not “work” to him.

Michael still lives in South Carolina with his wife, Ariel, whose selfless support inspires him to love and serve more every day. He enjoys spending time with good friends and going on evening drives.

Katelyn Fagala

Director of Operations

Katelyn engages with every department, keeping things running smoothly here at Hopkins Financial. After graduating from Wayland Baptist University, she worked as an executive assistant before transitioning to the insurance industry. She is originally from the Texas Panhandle and now lives in Western Oklahoma with her husband, Mark. Together they run a nonprofit that puts on car shows raising funds to assist people with medical expenses.

Katelyn and Mark recently welcomed their first child! In her spare time, Katelyn enjoys propagating houseplants, painting, and quilting. She credits both of her grandmothers with inspiring her to be creative, work hard, and always love people where they are.

Jessi Contreras

Care Team Coordinator

Jessi cares for our clients here at Hopkins Financial. She has worked in the client service world for over two decades, helping them navigate and resolve challenges in business technology, finances, and insurance. In addition to checking on, praying for, and keeping up with our clients, she enjoys using her voice for ministry through singing and audiobook narration. She is especially passionate about ministering to people in Hispanic and neurodivergent communities and those walking through trauma healing.

Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Jessi lives with her husband and two sons in Honduras, where they have a cattle and horse ranch—as well as a dog, a cat, a parrot, and some chickens. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, and walking in nature.

Kim Popkin

Insurance Agent

Kim's desire is to serve families by helping them get the insurance that is right for their unique circumstances.

Kim also serves families in her local church through Sunday school and Bible club ministry. She also teaches Bible classes at a nearby middle school. She has worked as a home health aid for many years, and so understands the difference good health care can make in taking care of a family.

Kim's biggest desire is to help families get the level of care she would want for her own family, and she is thrilled to serve alongside the team of Hopkins Financial!

Sarah Hill

Blog Manager

Sarah has been writing ever since she can remember, and over the years God has grown her passion for language and communication. She and her husband recently welcomed their first daughter, who was born prematurely and spent 41 days in the neonatal ICU. That experience has given her a deeper understanding of the need for good health insurance and kind, godly people to walk you through the process. She is thrilled to be able to use her skills to serve ministries and other believers in a practical way.

Sarah loves being a stay-at-home wife and mom, taking long walks with her husband, board games with family, and baking.

"For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
